SAINT-SEINE
On the banks of the Cressonne, the lively village of Saint-Seine is situated on a slope of the Mont d'Azy, at an altitude of over 320 metres. The village is built around the original Romanesque church, which has a barrel-vaulted apse and features a 16th-century stained glass window. A vast castle has been built on the site of a former feudal stronghold, which belonged to the barony of Ternant. Traces of the Neolithic period have been found on the site of the former La Loge forge, including an 8-metre-deep well, completely filled with cinerary urns that clearly predate the Gallo-Roman period.
