Musée Gorsline
An old barn transformed into a modern gallery exhibits the works of Douglas Gorsline (1913-1985), an American painter and illustrator influenced by chronophotography, cubism and realism. After an initial realist career in the United States, he turned to his concept of "sequential simultaneity" once he settled in Burgundy in the 1950s. Using techniques as varied as oil, watercolour, ink, washes and lithography, he created enigmatic and extremely engaging portraits, landscapes and still lifes. From 1964 until his death in 1985, this lover of Burgundy lived in Bussy-le-Grand. A temporary exhibition is held every year from April to September, inviting local artists whose work resonates with that of Douglas Gorsline.
