Château de Ratilly
The pottery room, a must-see, with its ochre colours typical of the Puisaye region!
It is in a green setting turning orange that the castle of Ratilly is revealed. A medieval building that has been little altered, it is revealed in all its splendour during the autumn! Until mid-November, it is the tohu-bohu painting of the Argentinian artist Ernesto Riveiro which is exhibited in large format and in a thousand colours.
At the end of a small dirt road stands the impressive facade of the Château de Ratilly, a true medieval fortress built on foundations from the 11th century, completed in the 13th century, then partly transformed during the Renaissance. The four corner towers, the two entrance towers defending the drawbridge, the moat and the dovecote surround the charming square inner courtyard. Since 1951, the pottery workshop, exhibitions, shows and courses have made Ratilly a leading art centre.
